Thanks for the info. Be careful, once Obama wins and the Fairness Doctrine is passed you won't be able to write such things on this blog anymore!

I am not going to argue whether Obama lied or did not lie, but my problem is that most of us just go and vote for the leader who is prolife and then sit pretty like we have already done our job, I think it should start from the individual, we should work on stopping abortion locally, preventing our neighbor from performing an abortion. It should be our responsibility and not the responsibility of the government, the republican have controlled the senate for 6 of the last 8 years and no change has happened as concerns abortion. I guess we should do what we feel the Lord is leading us to do, I also believe that all leaders are appointed by God and I also believe that Obama just like McCain is a God fearing man.
Well, I'm not big on either main candidate, and I wouldn't describe myself as a "one-issue-voter" either.
What is striking about the abortion issue this time is that you have a pro-life candidate, who probably won't be able to reverse Roe v. Wade, running against a candidate whose past decisions and campaign promises involve a definite increase in abortion: his promise to lift current abortion restrictions on late term abortion, revoke federal funding for crisis pregnancy centers, increase funding to Planned Parenthood in order to pay for abortions with our tax money, his past effort to deny babies born alive due to failed abortion comfort care, as well as his current promise to pass a bill which would create massive amounts of embryos for embryonic stem cell research in which they would all be destroyed, despite the fact that adult stem cell research has been more promising than embryonic stem cell research. This is no standard pro-choice Democrat. Barack Obama may be a Christian. That's between God and him, but he will be slotted to appoint a record number of circuit court and supreme court judges if he is elected president, and given the above issues, he would be given a dangerous freedom. Obama's policies would dramatically increase the number of babies killed in abortions in our country, despite his rhetoric about helping the poor as a means to reduce abortions.
Of course there are other issues... the Fairness Doctrine is one such issue. Obama is in support of it and has said he would pass it, which would basically censor any radio station with a one-perspective dialogue (ie. Christian radio). Radio stations would be required to provide equal air time to all perspectives on a given topic, or the station would be ruled biased and not allowed to operate. Democrat Nancy Pelosi has been pushing for this recently and in the past and he has promised to support it.
I could go on and on, but this is already a book. I would just like to make it clear that this is a very different situation than the last election and that voting against Barack Obama because of his stance on abortion is no casual choice or oversimplification of the issues. I know too well that God could bring Obama to the white house, but just because he does, doesn't mean that God sanctions what Obama would do during his time there. God also gave Israel over to the Babylonians and allowed many wicked kings to rule Israel...
Remember he also talked about abstinence which I believe would reduce the number of abortions.
