SNOW DAY!!

Hurray for our first real snow in a few years! It will probably be gone by nightfall, but it's been fun to revel in the novelty of it all. The kids woke up at 6am this morning to see if there was snow on the ground and we were outside by 7:30. Matt built a great snowman and I even saw someone (a reporter?) stop to take a picture of it this morning. Maybe we'll be in the paper.

I can't believe you got that big of a snowman out of this snow! Our kids built one, and it was about 10 inches high!

We had a solid 3 inches of clean snow on all of the flat surfaces and some more in the crevices. They were outside pretty early too. It was almost gone by 9am. The snowman is pretty darn huge though. Matt's really proud.

Rachel would like to know what you named your snowman. Ours is named Frosty. :) (I'll have pics up soon)

We actually didn't officially name him, but I think the kids think he's Frosty the Snowman. The first time Dana watched Frosty the Snowman, Dana cried when Frosty melted... big huge tears streaming down his face. It was a sweet thing to watch my boy show real emotion, not that he doesn't do that normally. It's just so meaningful to me when I see a little boy, my little boy, so sensitive to someone's loss, even if it's just a cartoon.

What a great snowman. Guess I got out of town in time. We had authentic slush and a light dusting of the white stuff. It brought back memories of note from the mailman to shovel or NO MAIL. Many years of shoveling and not the least home sick for the climate of the Minn. tundra. Glad the kids enjoyed it. Love, Grammy

Okay, there's Dana crying when Frosty melts. And then there are my children. As we pulled out of the driveway last night to take Sam to wrestling, I noticed the snowman was gone. I asked, "Hey, guys, where's the snowman?"

"Oh, that's him all over the driveway. We took turns smashing him."

Willa, that's hilarious! I laughed out loud, really.

Your snowman looks awesome! I wish the kids and I could see snow again soon. It's actually pushing 80 here today. Ugh, only bc it's humid too, which I hate! I'd much rather be somewhere where we get to experience seasons. And not the kind where people from up north descend upon us for 6 months! Hope y'all stay warm.
