I need a good breast pump. Jonathan won't take a bottle of formula when I have to be gone for more than an hour. I've used the Avent Isis manual pump and it's useless to me. I can't get more than an ounce of milk, so I sold the one I had at the last Jack and Jill Sale. Have any of you used the Dr. Brown's electric single pump or the Lansinoh double electric pump? OR do you have one you like that's under $100?

I'm a pretty lousy pumper, but I find that if I nurse on one side all day, by the end of it, the other side is nice and full and I can get 4+oz, no sweat. I have the Medela manual. If I don't do it that way, I just get a measly half oz.
we got a old(ish) medela pump in style that you can probly use indefinitely. call or email michelle
I could never get a manual to work. I used the Medela pump in style that Michelle has (I borrowed that exact one) and it did really well.
This time around I purchased my own Medela pump in style from ebay. I got one for $115 (with loads of accessories) and it is only a year old.
The medela in your picture is the one I used with both of mine and loved it. It's noisy, but that didn't bother me. Also - the one I had was my sister-in-law's and I know all the info says not to use one someone else has used, but we sterilized it good and didn't worry about it. Hope that helps!
Here's the thing I have experienced with pumping: in the beginning, when I was doing it at least once a day, I would get more and more milk each time. Then, when I tried the other day after not pumping for two months, I could barely get any. Then the next time, I got a little more, and a little more the next time. I have the Single electric Medela Delux. It's fairly good. I am sure there are better ones. I also have a manual, but could never get ANYTHING with it.
I think you have to have an electric one! I never was able to get a manual pump to work.
I was given a hand - me - down Medela Pump in Style double pump. It was great!
