Great News!

Everything's fine! Dr. Spraggins called me today from home (she's on vacation) and said that we should trust the second test results. I still don't know Matt's test results, but the kids are all well within what's considered normal and she said she'd call me to let me know his results. Whatever lead was picked up on the first test was just skin deep, maybe from putting their shoes on before leaving the house... I don't know. I feel sheepish about all of the help we've received, especially now that we know the kids have been fine the whole time, but I think we did the right thing.

This has been a really tough experience and I wouldn't care to repeat it. That aside, I've been so amazed by God's provision for us, through the prayers and fellowship of our friends and family. Thank you to all of you who have fed Matt and labored beside him over the past week. Thank you too for your words of encouragement and your shared experience. I feel like I have a moderate case of emotional whiplash, but all in all we're doing just fine. ;)

Karen! I'm so happy for you! I've been reading your posts and praying, and I believe you've got a miracle on your hands! This is the second time in two years that test results "mysteriously" aren't the same. God is good, and I"m glad it was swift and relatively painless. I've been driving past your house and boy oh boy, it's looking nice and cleaned off! Be encouraged, your heavenly Father loves you so much and He takes care of those children soooo well. Praise God!

Once again, I find that I tend to place limits on God's power when I pray. I never even thought of praying that the tests would be false. I prayed that the kids (and you and Matt) would emerge healthy and that you would not lose heart concerning your decisions as parents, etc., etc. I must confess I also questioned why He would put you to this test. I am so thankful for this reminder that His power is great and His methods are pure and His love never fails. (Maybe demonstrating this to so many people is the "Why"!!)

Wow, Karen! I haven't read your blog in a few days so I'm excited to have just read the beginning to end story. I need to have our kids tested, too, but I'm with Katie K, in having seen two different medical miracles in the last month. What little faith I have. Thanks for sharing all of this.
Love, Keri

I hereby request pictures of cute little red-headed children. Do you know any??????? Just kidding. Not about the pictures, though. We miss you. Let me know when you get your package-- another week, maybe? It will be good for me to gague how long packages take in general from here.
