He's all grown up

In March, Matt brought home about 50 or more frog eggs that he found in a pond, while he was fishing. We eagerly watched them as they doubled in size and popped out of their jelly eggs. Every day they grew bigger. The kids loved it. A month ago, Matt and the kids returned all but two of them to the pond. Now, four months after the eggs came home, we have our first frog. The other tadpole is pretty fat, but still no legs. This week Matt will take them to the pond to join the other froggies. Our froglet isn't eating well and he'll probably do better there. We didn't take as many pictures as we should have, but here are a few.

That must have been very fun. One of the teachers at my school tried to do that with the tadpoles in our backyard. How fun.

I LOVE this! What a great lesson for the kids! We miss you. John e-mailed Mr. Choi when he got home.

Oh so jealous! Gid and I were just talking two days ago about getting some tadpoles and watching them grow up. I'll show him your pics after nap (oh sweet joyous nap).

looks like good bass bait!

I actually had the bait idea. I've used tadpoles on a crappie rig before without much luck, but I think frogs would be great. I've gotten a little attached to this guy, though.

Another idea about bait I had was with fish. Karen has talked about the kids having fish as pets, I'd love to have an endless supply of live bait. Would the kids notice?

goldfish work wonders on bass! you could get a breeder tank going.

That's so cute! We did that as kids when we lived in Florida. Its really cool.
On the goldfish bait I have a funny story. Jeremy and I have an aquarium and decide to have bass in it. So once they were in the aquaruim what do you feed them? Well at the time 50 cent goldfish at Wal-Mart. I would get the funniest looks when I would want 30 of them little guys:)
